The Westleigh Dive Team is a member of the Montgomery County Dive League (MCDL).

Divers compete against dive teams within our league in the following age groups, based on gender and age on June 1, 2008: 8 years of age and younger, 9-10 years, 11-12 years, 13-14 years, and 15-18 years. The divers learn the basic front and back jumps and dives, and can progress to more complicated somersault, reverse, inward and twisting dives. Points are awarded to the teams for their first-, second-, and third-place finishes within each age group.

The Montgomery County Dive League does not require team suits; most dive teams use the same suit as their local swim team. For summer 2008, the Westleigh Swim Team suit is can be obtained from Underwater Wear in Gaithersburg. Although no specific suit is required, long and loose trunks on our male divers can be present a challenge when performing tucks, so jams (the longer spandex boys' suits) or speedos are recommended.
